Battery Monitor
Battery Monitor
The primary function of a battery monitor is to provide a percentage of the battery's charge level. It does this by summing the current flowing in and out of the battery. Besides the display, it uses a shunt to count the incoming and outgoing current, giving us the battery charge level as a percentage. To monitor the charge level of a specific battery group, we enter the capacity into the battery monitor's screen and store it in memory. We connect the external shunt to the negative terminal and secure the communication cable between the monitor and the shunt. The battery monitor will handle the rest. By summing the current flowing in and out of the battery, it will calculate the current charge level. For example, a 5-amp discharge for 2 hours corresponds to a consumption of 10AH. Assuming our battery capacity is 100AH, our battery monitor will show us our battery capacity as 90%.Unlimited Service
